Oops...Reasons I've Been Absent

Time sure flies when you are busy. Since I last posted, I had TWO books published by Tree Shadow Press. The are the same book, but one (Pages: A Library Play) in English and the other (Páginas: Un Cuento de Bibliotecas) in Spanish. They are available at Amazon, Kindle, Barnes & Noble online, and other online bookstores.

I've been working closely with Tree Shadow Press on several other projects, too.

The biggest thing I'm working on lately is a book about prompts. Besides being about prompts, it is also an anthology of over 70 short pieces by a variety of writers who used a set of 30 prompts in interesting ways. The title is Prompted, Prodded, Published: How Writing Prompts Can Help All Writers. Work on this project gets me up early and keeps me up late. I'm working with nearly 20 contributors. I didn't realize how much work it would be, but I am LOVING every minute of it. I can't wait to see the final product.

Other projects I'm working on for the publisher are some bilingual (English/Spanish) children's picture books. I'm collaborating with a wonderful artist and also learning new skills for graphics.

I am co-hosting TWO writing retreats for women in October with award winning photographer, Denise Guthery. "A Picture Is Worth..." will have structured activities as well as scheduled time for writers to work on their current works-in-progress. The main focus will be using what we see, in pictures and in the world, as writing tools to use in new and existing work. Space is limited.

What more? The usual day-to-day tasks and chores, teaching a writing class, leading weekly meetings, and attending other meetings. And, I'm planning a writing conference for early next year. So...that's why I've neglected to make updates here. There are only so many minutes in a day.
